Abstract: It is shown that at liquid drop spreading on a solid smooth uniform surface there is a local ring-shaped area of adhesive forces action around the drop on the surface. It is obtained that width of this area is b = 0,414rk where rk is the radius of the drop base sitting on the surface.

Abstract: On the basis of the mechanical model for solid body/liquid/vapour system the new equation of adhesion work at wetting solid surface by liquid phase is obtained. It was shown that the known Young-Dupre equation according to form is a particular case of the new Young-Verkholomov equation of contact angle.
